Preliminary Study of the expansion and upgrading of the premises of IB (International Baccalaureate)

The study concerns the buildings of LADAS and Compton Hall, which currently house the premises of the IB (International Baccalaureate) and include the architectural preliminary study for the extension - upgrading of the teaching spaces, laboratories, service, assembly and office spaces.

The restructuring building program concerns the extension of the IB program from 150 to 200 students.

The main concept of the proposal is the optimal cost-benefit ratio, the emergence of the stone-built old building, the coherence and service of the functions, the accessibility, the utilization of all the energy-upgrading parameters of the buildings.

In addition, a primary aim of the study was the integration of the buildings into their surroundings.

The new proposed wing is considered to take into account all the new bioclimatic design aspects, into a concept of an environmentally sensitive shell with the appropriate electrical and mechanical building installations aim for a high energy class building.
