The project concerns the redevelopment of Agios Minas Street from Venizelou Street to Ionos Dragoumi Street. This project was proposed in the context of street renovations near buildings of special interest with the aim of improving and promoting them to the visitor and creating an overall urban experience. In this context, the highlighting of Ag. Months in this section mark the approach to the Museum of the Jewish Community of Thessaloniki (JCT) which has heavy traffic and the continuation of the road to Venizelou Street. The area has increased commercial traffic during the day while being close to 'Ladadika' an vibrant nightlife area.
The main objective is the aesthetic and functional upgrading of the road. This is mainly achieved by removing diversity of elements and ensuring a unified, common and recognizable style. Important elements of the proposal in this direction are the delimitation of parking spaces, the replacement of sidewalks, the organization of signage, urban equipment and waste bins, the improvement of lighting and tree planting. The main design decision is to widen the sidewalk on the side of the road while maintaining the existing tram line that emerged during the project, removing most of the parking lots in conjunction with the continuation of the intervention materials, ensuring a perceptible continuity and longevity. The layout of the street has been seen in the light of the overall upgrading of the city's urban open-air network, which aims to create a new tourist promenade, connecting remarkable parts of the historic city center.
